This cognac is made from a blend of Merlot (66%) and Cabernet-Sauvignon (34%). picked at maturity. The 2 grape varieties are then pressed separately in a dedicated pneumatic press.
The grape juice (3/4) is blended with ¼ brandy of Cognac (70% vol.) and aged a year minimum in barrels. Then the mixture is aged in French oak barrels much longer than the minimum of 5 years required by the AOC "Vieux Pineau des Charentes".
