Gin Mare, a super premium gin, produced in small batches near Tarragona in Spain, with a unique and distinctive character, wrapped in a pretty decorative lantern; is a great idea for a gift. Its inspiration comes from plants grown in the Mediterranean and Gin Mare is distilled from four main plants: basil, thyme, rosemary and the most unusual of all: the Catalan olive "Arbequina". These are distilled individually in a copper still and then mixed by hand with parallel more traditional plants: juniper berries, coriander, cardamom and citrus (bitter orange peel, Seville orange peel and lemon, soaked in advance for more than a year). The word "mare" is deeply rooted in Mediterranean culture and a derivative of the Latin "mar" which means sea.

If you decide to enjoy it with a tonic, try tonic 1724 or Fever-Tree. As a garnish, avoid lemon but use rosemary or basil.
