Angostura 1919, a blend of rums, distilled from fermented molasses (cane sugar syrup), aged 6 to 9 years, aged in burnt barrels.

1919 is a reference to a very particular date in the history of Angostura and in the development of the rum industry in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as in the Caribbean. In 1932, a fire destroyed a large part of the distillery and cellars of Angostura but, almost by divine intervention, charred barrels of rum labeled 1919 were spared. This is how Angostura 1919 rum was born.
