El Ron Prohibido is developed by El Ron Prohibido Distillery in Pénjamo, a city in central Mexico. The process begins by harvesting the local sugar cane, which is then crushed at the distillery to extract its naturally sweet juice to be transferred to a bin where the juice is mixed with water and then fermented. The result is called "mosto" and will then be distilled in continuous jet column stills. The ron that comes out of the stills is then aged according to the Solera method in former Spanish wine barrels (Jerez or Sherry).
El Ron Prohibido Reserva 15 years old Habanero Mexico is a 15 year old Mexican ron «Solera» born from a beautiful marriage of different husks aged at least 15 years old, produced from fresh sugar cane juice and aged in former Spanish oak barrels.
