The Volnay Fremiets are divided into two plots, one planted in 1950 and the other in 1980. Their situation is bordering the Pommard appellation. The soil is very similar to Pommard, with a high iron oxide concentration. However the mother rock is characteristic of Volnay. The wines obtained are thus relatively delicate and elegant from the attack in the middle of the mouth (Volnay), and quickly resume structure on the end (Pommard).
