The Aberfeldy distillery, created in 1898, is located on the Tay River in the highlands of the central Highlands, Scotland, and a stone’s throw from the birthplace of their founder and pioneer of "blending", John Dewar. Notes of honey characterize this whisky, which was obtained by fermentation in traditional "washbacks" and aging in oak barrels for 12 years. This single malt won several gold medals and in 2014, at the World Whiskies Awards, it was elected "Best Single Malt of the Highlands".
