Octomore 14.2 is a very peated Islay single malt (128.9 ppm) from the Bruichladdich distillery.
Very limited edition
Aged for 5 years, in barrels of ex-Oloroso first filling and in barrels of Amarone first and second filling.
Unfiltered at cold
Blended in French oak, which adds depth and complexity to the single malt.
Nose: first, aromas of prune, currant, leather and millet barley, followed by oak, cinnamon, apples and black pepper.
Mouth: note of smoked oak and roasted coffee. As the tasting progresses, nice balance with notes of apple, pear.
Final: persistent peat giving way to malt, oak and saline nuances in the finish
