Tanqueray Rangpur Distilled Gin, launched in 2006, this refreshing British gin is flavored with Rangpur, a very acidic, round and orange fruit. Rangpur is a native and very juicy variety, like an orange, from India.  Often called, to confusion, the lemons of Rangpur, it is not a lemon but a hybrid between a lemon and a tangerine. Originally from India, they seem to have a different name in each country and are becoming increasingly popular in Florida as a decorative plant.

Rangpur is also one of the largest cities in Bangladesh that lies north of the river «Teesta». The region has moderately wet and dry summers and temperate winters, making it ideal for citrus farming.

The exact list of botanicals in this gin is hard to find, but the following are obvious: juniper, Rangpur, bay leaves, ginger and coriander.

Tanqueray is owned by the Diageo Empire. In 2007 and 2008, Tanqueray Rangpur was awarded the double gold medal at the «San Francisco World Spirits Competition».
